If you’re looking for some of the best dentists in Winnipeg, look no further than the team at Cholakis Dental Group. We are thrilled to announce two new additions to our skilled team of dentists, kids dentist Dr. Hamideh Alai-Towfigh and Oral Surgeon Dr. David Rusen

Dr. Hamideh Alai-Towfigh obtained a Bachelor of Science from Dalhousie University and went on to pursue a degree in dentistry at the University of Manitoba, graduating in 1993. Her interest in children’s dental care led her to do a mini-residency in Pediatric Dentistry at the University of Minnesota in 2013. She is a part-time instructor at the University of Manitoba and the WRHA. She keeps herself current through continuing education courses.

Dr. David M. Rusen, earned his dental degree from the University of Manitoba in 1974, and following an Oral Surgery internship in 1975, was accepted as the first resident in the Oral and Maxillofacial Graduate Program at the University of Manitoba. During the two year hiatus due to development of the accreditation of the program, Dr. Rusen joined the Faculty of Dentistry as Assistant Professor and created and instituted the Hospital Dentistry 4th year course, before resuming and completing the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Residency in 1980. Dr. Rusen has been in private practice, since completing his residency, in the Medical Arts Building in downtown Winnipeg until recently joining the Southwest Specialty Group.
