Prosthodontics

Prosthodontics is the art and science of correcting tooth and bite issues using a fixed or removable dental prostheses. Prosthodontists receive full general dental training, along with an additional three years dedicated to prosthodontics. This additional training results in a deeper understanding of dental materials and ways to correct an irregular bite.

Often thought of as the “quarterback” of complex dental restorations, a Prosthodontist works together with a team of dentists, periodontists, oral surgeons and other specialists to help patients achieve their ultimate smile — one that is both aesthetically and functionally pleasing.

Our Prosthodontist Can Assist With:

  • Missing teeth
  • Aesthetic dentistry
  • TMJ problems
  • Bite issues

What Does the Prosthodontics Process Involve?

The Prosthodontics process begins with a meeting to discuss your goals and the different ways to rebuild the foundation of your smile — this may include surgery. Once the foundation is right, we will build and test your new prostheses, ensuring proper fit and alignment. Once the prostheses is in place and we are satisfied with your new smile, we recommend a sequence of follow-up appointments so we can ensure that it is working as planned. We will also recommend ongoing follow-up appointments with your referring dentist to ensure long-term success.
